5 Ways to Keep Students Engaged in Reading up Until and Through Winter Break

Reading Workshop

Reading workshop is one of my absolute FAVORITE ways to teach reading. It is a framework you can use to set up your reading block. With the workshop model your students will have more time for independent reading, and you'll be able to teach using real texts like picture books, chapter books, and articles. Regardless if you are new to the workshop model or have been using it for years, there is a lot that goes into an effective reading workshop. Check out these posts to learn more about independent reading, mini-lessons, small group instruction, and reading conferences.
